Support at court
There are services to help you when you go to court.
As a victim of a crime, you have the right to have someone (such as a friend, relative or victim support worker) support you in court, at a Family Group Conference, a Parole Board hearing or a restorative justice meeting. However, the support person cannot speak while you are giving evidence, and cannot help you answer questions.
This section looks at:
- the role of court victim advisors
- how to stay safe at court
- how to access interpreters in court.
You can also watch a short video about what a court victim advisor does.
